Daisy Close
Daisy Close is a teenage American-Peruvian actress represented by Eris Talent Agency under Eloisa De Jesus in Los Angeles, California, USA for Film/TV/Commercial. Daisy is best known for starring in a TV series on IMDb and IMDb Pro (2021) which led her to win Best Performance by a Lead Actress in a TV Series (2022) by FilmFreeway and for performing as Maria from the 2021 West Side Story film by Steven Spielberg on the Today Show (2022). Aside from acting, Daisy is skilled at singing, songwriting, dancing, and modeling and has a passion for directing, producing, and writing. Daisy takes great pride in her ability to perform as a "triple threat." "I don't think it's necessary for performers to confine themselves and their abilities to "one box," the actress-singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California says. Some of Daisy's musical accomplishments include singing a duet with Kelly Clarkson featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, which gained more than one point eight million views, with viewers comparing Daisy's voice to Clarkson, who was hailed as "one of pop music's greatest singers" by Billboard (2022), being a contestant on American Idol (2022), and releasing original music in collaboration with music producer and Kidz Bop music director Scott Byrne (2021), which received radio airplay (2022). Daisy states in a recent interview, "I am a hardworking, determined, and driven actress, always seeking out new opportunities for growth and experience." "I take my training seriously and always put my best foot forward when it comes to my passion and love for the entertainment industry." Daisy is focused on film and television as her dream is to be in dramatic, musical, and action films; her work has been featured on ABC Network in partnership with Disney Television Studios, NBC Universal Television Studios, and FOX 20th Century Television Studios (2022). In addition to her film and television accomplishments last year, she has made her stage debut at Carnegie Hall as a soloist, having won first place and the judges' distinction in the musical theatre category in an international talent competition (2022). Daisy states in an interview discussing her role, "It's incredible how intensely the arts can connect us all." For me, acting has always been a sort of out-of-body experience, allowing me to fully immerse myself in my emotions. Since I was a child, I have always been intrigued by Shakespeare's work and the beautiful craft of acting. I grew up watching a lot of movies and was always at the movie theater, as that was and still is my favorite place to be. I believe movie theaters were created for dreamers. It's where all the magic begins. It's where your creativity is celebrated, and there's no limit to your imagination. Through acting, there's such a special connection between the performer and the viewer that cuts deeper than any emotional or physical connection possibly can. There's always a huge responsibility when accepting a role, but especially when you're portraying such a vulnerable character on screen. You want to accurately convey the authentic pain the character is experiencing through both your words and actions. I've been through a lot of pain and struggle in my life, and I believe that it comes across strongly in several of my dramatic pieces of work. I was beyond honored to be cast in such an important role in an even more important story. The most challenging, yet rewarding, part of the process for me is being able to portray and fully embody a character. "You not only morph into a character, but you become and reflect that character through your words and actions, either on screen or on stage." Daisy has an outstanding talent for acting, as she can analyze and comprehend such complex emotions to create her own distinct characters from scratch. She has an exceptional talent for making each and every performance feel so captivating to the viewer, allowing their sole focus to be on the story. Daisy is a proud Latina, as she states at a convention. "I want my work to be inspiring to everyone, but I have a special emphasis on it being an inspiration to many in the Latinx/Hispanic community who grew up fighting for their dreams like me." Several Hispanic families, like mine, come from humble beginnings, so getting where we want to go in life requires a long battle full of sacrifices and the fear of failure. When we are willing to believe in ourselves and commit to the long haul, we are able to achieve our goals in the end, and it becomes a full circle, beautiful moment. It's often a moment that only we can see and others can only dream of. It's a moment that doesn't only mean so much to ourselves but also to our family and loved ones, who have sacrificed everything for us. "It's a rough but beautiful journey that I'm glad is getting more representation on screen." Daisy Close has been acting and singing for over ten years now. Daisy Close states, "Acting and music allow me to capture moments in time and emotions both on-screen, in the studio, and onstage." Daisy has a remarkable talent for singing, not to mention she is able to write lyrics that connect and captivate so many others on a deep, emotional, and personal level. She states, "Just having music out for the world to hear is thrilling to me." It's like a piece of work that I created, and that feels really fulfilling as an artist. I feel like every artist's dream is to have people connect to their music, so being able to do that feels almost ethereal. Just being a teenage girl who can write strong pieces of music for herself and for others feels so powerful to me. It's not something we see very often from women in the entertainment industry anymore, but it's a stance that brings a lot of people together through shared pain and similar experiences. I feel like people always need to be reminded of their worth and value, and I'm willing to be that reminder through the passion and love I have for music. Songwriting is a very therapeutic experience for me. It allows me an outlet to be vulnerable and express everything I'm feeling. I mainly write songs when words just aren't enough anymore. "Often times, I don't even realize what I'm feeling until I start writing and a song just flows out of me." Additionally, Daisy works on and off as a model, being published in more than one hundred print and digital magazines with international sales and revenue. Daisy is an advocate for bullying and domestic abuse. She states at a charity organization, "My parents were never very wealthy, but we managed with what we had." I didn't understand how different our financial condition was from others' when I was little until I started attending elementary school. I must admit, kids can be cruel. I can confirm that Mean Girls by Tina Fey pretty much sums up my time in high school. It was always about the little things, but as I got older, it also started to be a part of the greater things. It began with "Your shirt is ugly," but quickly changed to "You want to be a performer?" "Stop dreaming; wake up and go find a real job." The majority of the people in my community did not take kindly to my growing up as a determined and ambitious child with high hopes of becoming a performer one day. I had to contend with criticism and judgment all the time. I faced severe bullying in high school for my dedication to the arts, and it was a struggle for me to rise above those who made me feel inferior. I never felt like I fit in. The arts were the only place I felt I belonged. My dreams were the one thing I could cling onto for optimism throughout my youth. It seemed as though I could close my eyes and simply see my dreams coming to life, even if no one else could. Although I didn't know how, when, or where it would occur, I was confident that it would eventually do so since I was determined to keep working hard until it did. "I just want to say to anyone out there that's being bullied for who they are, that you should feel special." People bully others out of their own insecurities because they can see the potential you have, which makes them feel intimidated. They'll try to say anything they can to stop you before it's too late. "We need to be supporting each other rather than putting each other down." Daisy states that she has always had a strong passion and love for the arts since she was a child. She states in an interview, "My passion and love for the arts grow stronger every day." I'm still developing and growing as a performer and as an overall person. I'll always keep learning and improving my craft. I'm just very grateful to be able to do what I love. "It's something I'll never take for granted." Daisy is currently on set for an upcoming film that will be released in 2023, as well as in the studio working on her debut EP.
