Don Knodel
An insatiable appetite to entertain and tell stories, impressions, accents, voices, singing & dancing have been a part of Don Knodel since he could walk & talk. A graduate from the University of British Columbia with a BA in Film & Television and from a background in musical theater, he was inspired to make a career out of acting and movie-making at age 6 after watching a Laurel & Hardy short and started at the age of 9 when his best friend found an old 8mm movie camera in his parents' closet.
Don's first feature film, which he starred in, wrote, produced and directed, was 'Man Without A Name'. The film was awarded "Best Foreign Feature", "Grand Jury Selection for Best Actor" and nominated as "Best Indie Auteur" at the Bare Bones International Film Festival 2004. He also produced and starred in 'Embedded', which was awarded "Best Narrative Feature" at the Lighthouse International Film Festival and nominated for "Best Ensemble Cast" at the Orlando Film Festival 2012.
Don has worked in the Vancouver Film Industry for over 30 years in almost every capacity from production assistant to assistant director to location manager and production manager for productions mostly from Hollywood.
