Edward Whelan

Edward Whelan is a writer/director/producer from the West Midlands. In 2019, Ed founded a production company, Keylight Studios, to produce narrative films for emerging directors. In March 2021, Ed completed his first feature, 'Audition', which was released on Amazon Prime UK and US. He also wrote and directed a short film in September 2020, 'Connected, Connection.' The short explores the impact of digital connectivity on a relationship pulled apart by a national lockdown. Ed is inspired to produce stories about the hero's challenge finding their home, prompting topical thematic questions about place, modern morality, and partnership. In 2022, he is set to produce three narrative films, adding to his growing filmography as a young producer.
