Eka Nusa Pertiwi
Eka Nusa Pertiwi (born November 1, 1990) is an Indonesian actress.
Her career started from the theater stage in 2007. In 2008 she received a scholarship to study acting at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. In 2009 she received an award as Favorite Monologue Actress at the Yogyakarta Arts Festival. Then in 2010, she became a theater actress who collaborated with Japanese artists in the Indonesian-Japanese Art Revitalization program in Osaka. She was also active in the arts at the Bagong Kusudiardja Art Padepokan until 2012 and in that year she also performed a theatrical work entitled "The Lover" by Harold Pinter at ISI.
Eka Nusa Pertiwi is the actress who first performed Wishing Chong's work Heart of Almond Jelly into a theater performance in 2015. She is the one who popularized the script to young people in Indonesia. Eka managed to get the audience carried away in a show that lasted almost 2 hours. At this time, Eka Nusa Pertiwi's acting became a reference for Indonesian actresses who wanted to perform the theatrical script.
Her work in the film world began with a short film entitled Travel, Message From Love, The Last Dinner, then won the Best Actress title at the Independent S-Cream Film Festival through the short film Lovely Husband in 2012. Then she had the opportunity to play the main role in the film Mata Ter Tutup. Eka was nominated for best newcomer actress in Indonesian film appreciation and the Closed Eyes Maya Cup and competed in acting with Jajang C. Noer.
In 2018. She expanded her career as a director of a musical drama entitled "Ambar dan Ketawang". This work is the result of research and collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Yogyakarta Natural Resources Conservation Center. Her next work entitled "Masquerade" was performed at the Alila Hotel. Both works were very successful and got many audiences from all walks of life. Eka said, "I want young people to be more enthusiastic and always think positively about the future of Indonesia after watching my works".
