Elise Rovinsky
Elise Rovinsky in an actress, noted for her roles in such films as The End of Something (2013), Come Morning (2012) and Boyz of Summer (2012). Headhunted by the Stella Adler Acting Conservatory for their graduate program while taking a class there, Rovinsky's talent was apparent and after graduating she further honed her skills on stage and in film.
Rovinsky was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, and raised in Austin, TX, and Kinna, Sweden, and is the daughter of Alvy (neé Andersson) and Robert Rovinsky, a nurse and professor, respectively. Rovinsky attended the University of Gothenburg and moved back to the States (NYC) where she divided her time between acting and waitressing before enrolling at Stella Adler.
In recent years Rovinsky's acting career has expanded to include several high profile independent films, which have met with acclaim at various film festivals. Utilizing her multi-lingual skills, Rovinsky has also starred in a number of independent and short films in Sweden, one of which, Rest (2009), has been available on TiVO in the States.
Rovinsky is as much at home in drama as in comedy, and is a core member of the NYC-based sketch comedy group The Shorts Show.
