JP DeStefano
JP DeStefano was born in Freehold, New Jersey. He attended Freehold Township High School, where he played baseball and football before moving to Texas in 2004. JP went on to attend the University of Houston where he received a B.A. in Business Administration.
Way back in 1994, a young JP was bit by the acting bug while watching the action classic Speed. JP spent hours and hours "playing Speed," even using his mom's minivan to reenact the high-octane sequence where Keanu Reeves escapes the bomb-rigged bus. JP's mom was not pleased.
JP found further acting inspiration in the form of action legend Jackie Chan. It was after seeing Jackie Chan perform his own stunts in Rumble in the Bronx that JP knew what he wanted to be: an action star. JP planned to punch and kick his way to big screen success.
JP began acting professionally in 2010, taking on a variety of background roles. His action dreams soon became reality when he appeared in the short film, Schism. JP trained in hand-to-hand combat to prepare for the role, then spent six weeks helping to choreograph the film's climactic fight sequence.
When JP is not filming, he enjoys discovering new talents and abilities he can bring to use in front of the camera. Never satisfied, JP continues to take acting classes and finds the environment enriching: a place, he says, "where you can both lose yourself and find yourself, and a place where you will conjure up something inside you that you never thought possible."
JP resides in Houston, Texas.
