Julian Black Antelope
Julian Black Antelope (nicknamed JBA), is a Canadian actor of First Nations/Central American and Irish descent who first entered the film and television arena in 2004 on DreamWorks/TNT's epic six-part mini-series Into the West (2005) alongside First nations Canadian icon, Graham Greene. A self-taught actor with no financial means for formal training, learned by trial and error working hard to carve out a small living doing plays, day player roles including working as a stunt performer, His first television breakthrough would come in 2010 on the gritty and critically acclaimed Canadian first nations television series Blackstone (2009). Four seasons of Black Antelope's portrayal of Darrien Tailfeathers-a villain audiences would come to love-to-hate, would earn him a CSA nomination (Canadian Screen Award-formerly known as a Gemini) for best Guest Star in a TV series alongside Edward Asner and William Shatner. In 2014 Black Antelope was cast in 'John Logan's Penny Dreadful (2014) which took him overseas where he quickly secured European representation and has since worked consistently both nationally and internationally on Film and TV projects like Condor (2018), An Klondike (2015), Justice Dot Net (2018), Caught (2018), Hell on Wheels (2011). An actor with a strong sense of physicality, JBA often plays characters with stunt action who are fearsome, menacing and psychotic villains. In addition to acting and to his credit, (or demise) JBA has crossed over to "the Dark Side" writing and producing on several independent short films, documentaries and development of television concepts for broadcasters and as a recognized Telefilm producer, a rapidly growing slate of feature films.
