After College he went on the road for the summer on a cross country bicycling event called The Journey of Hope (now called The Ability Experience) which raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities. He went on the trip with only two weeks notice before they left to replace someone who couldn't go, then traveled with his team over 4,700 miles across the country from San Francisco to Washington D.C. on bicycles while raising money for the charity.
Originally from the Midwest (Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas), his family moved often while he was young and is spread out across Florida, Kentucky, and California where they still live. His mother and grandfather are artists, and though he never served himself, his dad's side of the family were all military dating back to the Civil War. His 4th great grandfather died in the Civil War fighting for the North. His 3rd Great Grandfather was a Civil War veteran and later a U.S. Marshall in Texas and Oklahoma. His great grandmother on his father's side was full blooded Cherokee Indian. His great grandfather on his mom's side was an immigrant from Denmark and great grandmother from Sweden. His heritage is also from Scotland, Ireland, The Netherlands, Switzerland, England, Germany, and Norway.
He started working when he was 8 helping his dad with roofing and construction jobs, cleaning grocery store floors at night, as a paperboy, and when his entire family had a job cleaning an electric plant at night. He quit school early to work full time after his father became disabled. Working all sorts of jobs including construction, roofing, building metal buildings, as a mechanic, lifeguard, working in a wellness center, as a waiter, and several other odd jobs. He was the first in his family to finish College earning a bachelor's degree from The University of Oklahoma's Business School in Management and Information Systems, with minors in History and Music. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Data Science & Analytics (with honors) from the Gallogly Engineering School at The University of Oklahoma.
He says his inspiration to start acting came from watching and acting out Saturday Night Live skits as a kid, movies, and from watching Robin Williams doing improv in his roles and standup. In College he did some student films that he and his friends would write and shoot for their classes or just for fun. More interested in music than acting at the time, he says he never really seriously considered trying to write anything other than music or work in the film industry.
He makes music in his favorite styles and genres to form a unique mixture of Indie Rock, Folk, Blues, Funk, and Jazz. His previous bands, where he played lead guitar, keys, and was a backup singer, include one that recorded with and was produced by two members of the band Other Lives and also featured a member of Colourmusic at the time on that album. His debut EP titled: It's Not Enough was recorded at Bell Labs in Norman OK and features performances by Grammy Award Winners Trent Bell and Rob Martin of The Sugar Free Allstars on drums.
