Nathan Morlando
Nathan Morlando is a Canadian film and television director and writer. Most recently, he directed and executive produced the final six episode season of the international award winning drama series Cardinal.
Morlando's acclaimed second feature film Mean Dreams received its World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival Director's Fortnight. The coming of age crime thriller made its North American premiere as a Special Presentation at TIFF, was named one of Canada's Top Ten Films of the year, and received 3 Director's Guild Award nominations including Best Director.
His debut feature film as a writer-director, the true crime drama Citizen Gangster won TIFF's Best Canadian First Feature Award, went on to earn 5 Canadian Screen Award nominations, two DGC Award nominations including Best Feature Film, and was honored as one of Canada's Top Ten Films of the year. In addition, the film received Belgium's Liege Crime Film Festival Special Jury Award - the Prix de la Coeur - given to the film in special honor of its humanist look at the subject of crime.
Nathan Morlando graduated in Philosophy and Religious Studies from the University of Toronto and specialized in Existential Philosophy.
