Nicole Stamp is a director, writer, actor, and host.
As a director, Stamp is experienced in studio, location, and control room settings, with over 1000 hours of live broadcast television, from a decade spent directing, writing, and on-camera at TVOntario's flagship show The SPACE, which earned 2 Gemini Awards among 6 nominations for shows on which Stamp played a key creative role.
Other directing credits include episodes of major children's and youth series, including Odd Squad, three episodes of Blue's Clues and You, two episodes of Lockdown, three episodes of The Fabulous Show with Fay and Fluffy, and a full season of City TV's Inside Between, the after show of the Netflix series Between.
In 2022, Stamp was nominated for Best Direction in a Children's or Youth Series, for Lockdown 111 (aired on Family Channel).
Stamp has written for The Snoopy Show, was a story editor on Snoopy In Space (a collaboration between DHX, Apple and NASA), written the educational kids' series "The Incredible Adventures of EnviroGirl" for TVOntario.
Stamp's writing on the pandemic series "Lockdown", earned three major writing award nominations: Canadian Screen Award Nominee - Best Writing - Children's or Youth - Lockdown 112 (aired on Family Channel) Canadian Screen Award Nominee - Best Writing (shared) - Digital Media - Lockdown 109 (Sinking Ship / YouTube Originals). Acting credits include roles on "The Handmaid's Tale", "Hudson & Rex", "In Contempt", "Murdoch Mysteries", "The Expanse", "Odd Squad", and she was a key cast member on "Carmilla", a Canadian Screen Award-winning franchise with over 70 million views on YouTube. Stamp has also voiced characters in 20+ cartoons, including titles for Jim Henson Company, CBC, Cartoon Network, and Disney XD, and plays a major motion-capture role in the video game "Assassin's Creed Origins".
Stamp began her career working extensively in theatre; she's a critically-acclaimed playwright whose plays have been produced in Canada, the US, and the UK. She improvised professionally with the Second City Canadian National Touring Company, and was honored with the Toronto Arts Award for Excellence and Innovation in Theatre.
Stamp has hosted television and web series including "Inside Between", a Netflix after show for CityTV; "AllianceLive" for Alliance films, and "The SPACE" for TVOntario, which won 2 Gemini Awards among 6 nominations. She hosted 6 seasons of the classic academic game show "Reach For The Top" (a show that was originally hosted by Alex Trebek!), and interviewed A-list Hollywood talent for the Toronto International Film Festival and the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival for many years.
Stamp's activist writing on race and gender has been published by CNN. Her essay, "What Decent Men Can Do After #MeToo" was shared over 70 thousand times on Facebook; CNN reached out and commissioned it for publication, and within 6 weeks it had ranked in CNN's top-10 most-read articles of the year.
Stamp has several new projects in the works, including development work on a new children's educational animation series, co-creating a horror-romance series for young adults, and creating a kids media literacy show.
