Nimer Rashed
Nimer Rashed is an award-winning British director and screenwriter, based in London. After starting his career as a child actor working in film, theatre, and TV he went on to write for stage and screen, winning the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award at the International Emmy Awards.
His debut short film Baghdad Express (UK Film Council) featuring Riz Ahmed screened at festivals worldwide, and his short film Touch won the UK's biggest short film competition, the Virgin Media Shorts Grand Prize, awarded by Shane Meadows and judged by David Tennant.
His work as a director for shows such as Casualty and Holby City led to his being named on the BBC's New Talent Hotlist. He has also recently worked as 2nd Unit Director on Mike Bartlett's Press for Lookout Point, on Studio Lambert/Amazon's The Feed, and on The Capture for BBC/NBC/Heyday Television.
