Ninja N. Devoe
Theatrically trained actress Ninja N. Devoe has played challenging roles in some of the biggest film and television projects of the past few years. Highlights include fan favorite Aisha Axton, a street-smart Harlem girl in Marvel's LUKE CAGE, opposite Mike Colter and Emmy Award-winning Ron Cephas Jones, Roberta, the sassy fun-loving waitress in Ava DuVernay's television series QUEEN SUGAR, and most recently the endearing and inspirational motivator opposite Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen in Universal Pictures 2018 critics' darling GREEN BOOK.
Ms. Devoe began her professional career in New York City, training at the award-winning non-profit Tada! youth theater, and HB Studios. Next, she went on to study in Los Angeles with celebrity coaches Aaron Speiser, Amy Lyndon, and Doug Warhit, along with attending several workshops, seminars and improv programs.
Directed by Peter Farrelly in GREEN BOOK, Ninja also appears as Debbie, supporting lead and protective best friend, in David Moscow's thriller DESOLATION, streaming on Hulu. Other recent roles include Betty, the prideful slave, on WGN's critically acclaimed series UNDERGROUND and Zayven in the Lionsgate/You-Tube Red series STEP-UP: HIGHWATER from producer Channing Tatum. Ninja can next be seen in the 2019 Will Packer feature film JACOBS LADDER as Nurse Tonya, opposite Michael Ealy.
The bilingual Afro-Latina actress looks forward to playing many other equally compelling characters in everything from action films, where she can spotlight her combat and boxing skills, to period pieces and love stories.
