Rafael Zubizarreta
Rafael Zubizarreta Jr.(known affectionately by his friends as "Raf") is of Cuban and Mexican descent. Rafael's father (born and raised in Cuba) spent over 20 years in the United States army and is a Vietnam Veteran. The military life gave Rafael and his family the opportunity to travel around the world a great deal. Among all of his travels, Rafael most enjoyed spending several years in Germany.
Like most successful actors, Rafael was bit by the acting bug when he was very young. Throughout his childhood, he and his friends would put on skits for anyone who would watch. At the age of 19, Rafael began seriously studying acting in local community theaters as well as moving to New York to study with established acting coach, Susan Grace Cohen of the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City. Being cast in major stage roles quickly followed. Rafael has taken on a wide range of roles on various stages around the country including Off Broadway and traveling theatre tours.
Rafael has appeared on television in critically-acclaimed shows as well as blockbuster and indie films. One of Rafael's more passionate successes comes with his short film trilogy called "Windward Spirits" which he created as a child and shared with his childhood friends. As the years went on, Rafael continued to add onto his stories of Windward Spirits which he has now produced and starred in 3 of his own fantasy films titled, "Windward Spirits: A New Ruler (2016)", "Windward Spirits: Blood Ties (2017)", and "Windward Spirits: On Deadly Grounds (2019)". This Windward Spirits series is now streaming on Amazon Prime. Rafael's most recent project is the prohibition era short film titled, "Rumrunners (2021)" in which he created, wrote, produced, and starred in.
