Roxana Condurache
Roxana Condurache was born on August 28th, 1987, in Iasi, Romania, to Condurache Georgeta an economist and Condurache Constantin, an engineer.
Roxana was discovered by a modeling agency in 2002, when she won the Miss Freshmen of Emil Racovita High School and immediately started to work as a model. At the age of 18, she moved to the capital of Romania, Bucuresti, to study acting.
Roxana played various roles in theatre: The Gurtons Needle, The Actors directed by Mihai Malaimare, Pulse directed by Javier Opazo Madariga, Cries for Peace directed by Liana Cetechi, The Fear and Misery of the ThirdReich directed by Razvan Marinescu, Coriolanus directed by Alexandru Darie and many others.
Her movie career started in 2008 with roles in various short-films and in 2009 she was cast by Larysa Kondracki to play her first major role in a feature film: The Whisleblower, starring Rachel Weisz, Vanessa Redgrave, David Strathairn, Monica Bellucci and Nikolaj LieKaas. This role brought her a Genie Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 32nd Genie Awards, which she attended on the 8th of March 2012, at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto.
In February 2012 she participated in the Talent Campus of The Berlin Film Festival.
Roxana plays a leading role in The Night Stalker, directed by Olimpia Stavarache, which will premiere in 2019 in Romania. She can also be seen in the movies Behind the railway (2016), Gloria (2018) and Der Dreißigjährige Krieg (2019) and was cast to star in Bogie and Bacall, where she will portrait Lauren Bacall, wife of Humphrey Bogart.
In 2012 she married production designer George Pomponiu, with who she has a son, Noah Pomponiu.
