Ryan Hendrick
Ryan is a multi-award winning and BAFTA Nominated film director and actor. Credits include Choices, Minds of Glass, Besieged, Falling & Perfect Strangers. He is also a skilled editor and Video Journalist.
In 2005 Ryan turned to talents to in front of the camera, training for two years in Acting & Performance primarily at Stow College, then furthering that training with an Acting for Camera course taught by industry professionals such as Kahleen Crawford and Robert Carlyle.
In 2010 Ryan wrote, directed and produced his first short film Choices that earned him his 1st BAFTA Scotland nomination.
Ryan's festive short film Perfect Strangers screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2015 and 20 other festivals around the world. It went on to receive yet another BAFTA Scotland Nomination in 2016.
In 2017 Ryan partnered with renowned cinematographer John Rhodes (16 Years of Alcohol / Only Fools and Horses) on the short film Sundown, an emotional drama starring Caitlin Blackwood (Dr Who) and Frazer Hines (Emmerdale, Outlander) set on the remote island of Iona. Sundown premiered at the Oscar qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival in LA and went on to selected for over 20 film festival picking up awards for Direction, Drama, Music Score and Best of the Fest.
Currently Ryan has just released his feature debut, the Christmas Romance Lost at Christmas, based on the 2015 short film Perfect Strangers set in the snow capped Scottish Highlands. Lost at Christmas is Scotland's 1st Independent Christmas Film. Other projects in development include The Mild Bunch, Journey Bound and Following Morgan.
