Valeria Gonzalez
Valeria Gonzalez is a Los Angeles-based actor. Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Valeria spent her early childhood there and grew up with an older brother and sister in a house next to her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. As a child, Valeria spent summers in Canada with her mother and two siblings and has treasured memories of attending summer camps where she learned to speak English fluently. When Valeria was 10 years old, her family relocated to Mexico City, where she began attending middle school. They then relocated to Barcelona, Spain, and she finished middle school and attended high school in La Garriga, a small town just outside of Barcelona. Valeria's education in the surroundings of this idyllic mountain town proved transformative. Valeria always gravitated toward the arts, studied ballet for a number of years, and attended an art school concurrent to high school and began painting, a hobby in which she still very much enjoys. She loved studying different languages, and particularly Spanish grammar and syntactic analysis. She also studied English, Catalan and French.
After high school Valeria attended the University of Barcelona, where she studied and received her Bachelor's Degree in Media and Communications. She also studied at Jonkoping University in Sweden for a year as part of her degree. In Sweden, she was part of the Student Union and raised money through events and activities around the city, as well as organized trips around Europe, which included Kiruna (North of Sweden), Tallinn (Estonia), Bergen (Norway), and several cities in Russia. Valeria attended an El Plato de Cinema Acting School while attending university and participated in short films in Barcelona and London. Some of her European film credits include "The Pick Up," a short film by Aml Ameen in London; Isola, playing the lead role, spoken entirely in Italian, and shot in Carloforte, Italy; and Green It Up, where she acted as a host for the TV show in Jönköping, Sweden. Her stage acting highlight was a lead role in L'amant, a Catalan adaptation of the Harold Pinter play 'The Lover', performed at La Vilella Theater in Barcelona.
Valeria relocated to Los Angeles in 2012 to further her career in film and television. Shortly thereafter, she began training with the Ivanna Chubbuck Studio and honed her improvisational skills at The Groundlings. She also trained at The Actors' Gang Theatre Company, where after six months she was chosen to be an intern company member. Valeria continues to study her craft passionately and is actively pursuing diverse roles in film, television and commercials. Socially conscious, Valeria has volunteered her time throughout her adult life, and volunteers at Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue. In her spare time she enjoys painting in her garden and spending dinners with friends.
