Victoria DeBlauss
Victoria DeBlauss is an American actress, writer and filmmaker. Her mother is from Cote d'Ivoire and Mali in West Africa.
After performing in various stage and film productions throughout her youth, she studied at the renowned Drama Centre London, from which she graduated with her Masters degree . Whilst in London, she wrote, produced and starred in the short film "Meet You There", which was selected for the Short Film Corner at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. She recently wrote, produced, directed and starred in 'Velvet', a poignant short film that explores race and cinema in America. Victoria was awarded Best Emerging Filmmaker at the 2020 Santa Monica Film Festival.
'Velvet' was recently part of the Official Selection line-up at various Academy Award Qualifying festivals including The 2020 HollyShorts Film Festival and the 2021 Pan African Film Festival. The film was purchased by Shorts TV International.
