Vinodini
Vinodini alias Baby vinodini is the youngest daughter of the illustrious Indian Classical Dancer choreographer and mentor of a new dance style called Kerala Natanam, Dr Guru Gopinath and mohiniyattam dancer Mulakkal Thankamani
Her sister Vasanthi and Vilasini were Child artists in Malayalam movies. At a very young age of three Vinodini acted in P Subrahmanyam's film Bhaktha kuchela. She acted as the young Krishna (Lord Sreekrishna).
Kannum Karalum directed by K S Sethumadhavan was the next movie in which she acted in double role.This was the film in which famous Indian actor Kamala Hasan acted as child artist. Vinodini acted his sister and acted the role of his early childhood.Top level Malayalam acters Sathyan and Ambika were in the lead roles.
She acted in 17 films including the guest roles n 'Swami Ayyappan ' by P.Subrahmanyam and 'Puthiya akasam puthiyabhoomi'
In P Bhaskaran's movie 'Ammaye kaanaan', she was given a role as important as the lead role. Other actors were Sathyam, Ambika and Madhu
She was awarded with the Sinema Masika trophy thrice during her career for her brilliant performances. It was the only award instituted for Malayalam films in those times. After acting in 'Karuthakai', 'Kadalamma', 'Snehadeepam', 'Chilampoli', 'Guruvayoorappan', 'Kadathukaaran', 'Manavatti', 'Omanakkuttan' etc. she stopped acting in child roles.
In 1973 she was offered a lead role in Devi Kanyakumari, the film directed by P Subrahmanyam. This marked the end of her film career as she rejected many offers from amil and Malayalm film industry. She continued her studies and padded MA Sociology with first class and first Rank. In 1981 Vinodini married T Sasi Mohan a journalist in Mathubhumi daily ( ow Editor, weblkam.com). Her son S Gopimadhav is a Mechanical Engineer and her daughter S Mathangi is studying in 9th class.
