Dwayne Barnes was born and reared in Detroit, Michigan where he witnessed some of life's harsh realities, which has consequently affected and transformed him as an artist and human being. In his senior year in high school, Barnes, voted "Most Likely to Succeed," won a citywide acting competition and was awarded a scholarship to attend Eastern Michigan University. However, after a few years of collegiate life, Barnes heard the call of his destiny and chose to immediately set his sights on moving to Los Angeles and stardom. Not just an actor, Barnes is also blessed with vocal talent and just two years after moving to Los Angeles, his performance in Robert Townsend's, "The Five Heartbeats: The Musical," was nominated BEST ACTOR for an NAACP Theater Award. Barnes also starred in the musicals, "Letters from Nam", which was written and produced by Emmy award-winning director, Paris Barclay, and "Dorian," which The Denver Daily New said, Barnes "gave a knockout performance." Barnes' musical talents also led to a contract with Capitol Records, where he recorded an album with the group H20. The group disbanded before the album was released. Barnes has guest-starred in over 30 different episodic shows, including such hit shows as C.S.I, E.R, and Cold Case. Other network guest appearances include, "Without a Trace", "Angel", "Judging Amy", "Numbers", "The Shield" and "Six Feet Under." Following in the shoes of such greats as, Samuel L. Jackson, Halle Berry (Jungle Fever) and Chris Rock (New Jack City), Barnes' haunting portrayal of the cheeseburger loving crack addict in the urban classic Menace II Society has garnered him critical acclaim throughout Hollywood. Barnes next project, which is due out in the Fall 2006 is a suspense thriller "The Flock" starring Richard Gere and Claire Danes. Refusing to be just another actor on the circuit, Barnes co-wrote and starred in, Memorial Street (2003), a short film, inspired by his real life relationship with his mother. The film is a touching portrayal of a mother and son's broken relationship and the challenges that they are forced to go through, and somehow sustain the undying love innately shared between the two. Memorial Street was chosen by A.F.I's Women in Film Program and also starred, "Magnolia's" April Grace. Dwayne Barnes is destined to become one of the greats of our times. He is a dedicated and focused man on a mission to change lives for the better through expression of his art and life's journey. Dwayne Boyd is a Producer, Director and Actor as well as instructor at Premier Actors' Network (PAN) - which he founded in 2003. As an actor Dwayne Boyd believes in delivering his true self in every performance. His ability to engage and affect his audiences through acting proves the potential of this rising star. Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Dwayne found his love for acting early in life. After completing high school, he served in the United States Army for seven years. Not long after leaving the Army, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue his acting career. Boyd's acting skills were first honed in Atlanta-area theater productions, including To Kill A Mockingbird and A Man's World. Boyd has since decided to train other aspiring actors to perfect their crafts by developing the Premier Actor's Network, a group that holds weekly acting classes in Decatur, Georgia. With over 110 students currently on his roster, Boyd managed to impress accomplished actor, writer and director Robert Townsend with his commitment to give back. Townsend has since allowed Boyd to use rehearsal space at the network offices of the Black Family Channel to accommodate his growing and successful classes. Boyd's commitment to the art of entertainment transcends his skills as just an actor. He has found himself writing, directing and producing short films as well through 34th and Askew Productions company. He has produced works such as Ruthless Company and Wanted: Video Girl. In 2004, he was tapped to produce several episodes of Gory Stories, a children's program on the Black Family Channel. Pursuing dreams as an actor has been a labor of love for Boyd, who works as a barber part-time to cover his living expenses. Still, his talent began to pay off with a starring role as Oscar in the 2005 Screen Gems production 'The Gospel', starring Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba and Omar Gooding. This film role follows Boyd's work in television, which included appearances in episodes of NBC's Surface, Lifetime's hit shows Army Wives and Drop Dead Diva, Black Family Channel's Playhouse 22 and Meet the Browns. He can be seen in the upcoming Disney film The Odd Life of Timothy Green starring opposite Jennifer Garner and Common and the highly anticipated film adaption of the enormously popular book series The Hunger Games starring Oscar Nominee Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harellson, Lenny Kravitz and Donald Sutherland. As a talented actor who respects and continually improves his craft, Dwayne has positioned himself for further success as the filmmaking industry takes notice. Beginning with his feature film, a romantic comedy titled 4 Minutes, which he wrote, produced, and directed, was not only accepted into the prestigious American Black Film Festival (ABFF), of 2008 in Miami, but it was ranked top four out of 600 entries, and additionally accepted into the International Black Film Festival (IBFF), in Nashville. He recently directed the SAG feature; The Ivy League set to be released later this year and is in development for his third feature, The Legacy of Frank Wallace, which he is slated to direct. Additionally, Boyd's success with Premier Actor's Network (PAN) continues to soar as his classes include on-camera work, monologues, improvisations, scene study, and character development, to prepare for roles in TV, film, commercials, and theatre. He then provide his students with an acting showcase at least twice a year, where they perform in front of hundreds of family, friends and industry personnel, such as; agents, casting directors, and producers. His recent showcase deemed to be the best showcase thus far in metro Atlanta; as exclaimed by very prominent talent agents and casting directors in attendance. In addition to the many accolades, eighty percent of the actors obtained opportunities for agent representation following the showcase. That being an accomplishment within itself, Boyd finds great joy in seeing his diligent work with his students pave the road for their success; and this is what continues to drive him to strive for perfection in the art, live his dream, and fulfill his destiny!

Played love interest to Amber Heard and Selma Blair and also starred alongside John Savage. His career took off when he was cast for the lead role of Bray in the cult TV series The Tribe (1999). By the age of 18 he had completed 156 episodes of The Tribe and had been on a number of publicity tours to Europe and the USA, appearing in all major youth media to promote the show and spin-off album. He represented The Tribe in Los Angeles when it was a nominee at the 2000 GAIT Awards for international television drama. Dwayne has written, directed, produced, edited and starred in a number of his own short films made by his production company Dancing Mind Films, the most recent was Holding the Sun (2013) which was accepted into the 2013 Cannes Short Film Corner and was nominated at the 2013 New Zealand Film Awards for Best Short Film and Best Production Design. In 2015 directed and produced his latest short film June (2015) starring John Callen who played Oin from The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014) and Brooke Williams who stars in The Shannara Chronicles (2016).
Dwayne came to Rough Draft Studios in 1996 to work on Spy VS Spy for Mad TV, and has been on staff ever since. He is serving as Supervising Director on Disenchantment. He has also supervised on Full Englishfor UK's Channel 4. He has directed on Futurama - Seasons 4, 6 and 7, as well as Sit Down, Shut Up, Drawn Together and the direct-to-DVD features Bender's Big Score and Bender's Game. In addition, Dwayne was an assistant director/ character designer/ layout artist on Futurama - the series, and an animator on the Looney Tunes theatrical short; Duck Dodgers - Attack of the Drones, Baby Blues and the CBS pilot - Vinyl Café. Dwayne has received an Annie Award for his work on the DVD movie, Futurama: Bender's Game and a Hugo Award for his work on Drawn Together. Dwayne is also part of our in-house development team and The Rough Draft Collective.
