Daniel K Daniel (Daniel Kanayo Daniel), popularly known as DKD is a Multiple Award-winning American based Nigerian Actor. He is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Science, class of 2022. Daniel is a two-time African Actor of the Year. He is best known for his portrayal of Bossman in the movie A Soldier's Story, for which he won the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) and the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) awards for Best Actor, making him the first Nigerian actor to achieve the feat of winning both awards in the same year. He also starred in the period piece "'76", directed by Izu Ojukwu, and the light-hearted "Mummy Dearest" alongside veteran Nigerian actress Liz Benson. Daniel was born May 22, 1986. He Studied Applied Biochemistry and attained a Bachelor of Science degree. Daniel resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Daniel was part of the cast in the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) radio drama series - 'Story Story' and 'Neighbour My Neighbour'. He also starred in the BBC Movie - Sarah's Choice. In a stint in the Advertising/Corporate world, He worked with Orkin Nigeria/USA in 2011/2012. The high point of this was his photo-shoot in Dubai to become the face of the company. In 2016, Daniel also won the "Best Actor" Award in the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2016, and Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) 2016 for his outstanding portrayal of BossMan, A Rebel Leader in the movie - "A Soldier's Story". Daniel later reprised his role for A Soldier's Story 2, (Return from the Dead) released in African Cinemas to critical acclaim and later acquired by Lions Gate for distribution in America and Canada. In 2018, Daniel won the Best Supporting Actor Award in the Zulu African Film Academy Awards (ZAFA) held in London, England. In 2020, Daniel was nominated for Best Actor in a Lead Role in the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
