Justin Randell Brooke was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. His acting debut came early, when he landed the role of Ebenezer Scrooge in a 4th grade class production of A Christmas Carol. After graduating from Florida State University (with a degree in Poetry), he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he began his artistic career as guitarist and songwriter for the rock 'n' roll band Howlies. In 2008, Howlies inked a record deal with NYC label Over/Under and flew to the California desert to record their debut, 'Trippin' with Howlies'. Howlies spent the next 4 years touring on the strength of 'Trippin' with Howlies', and their 2010 follow-up, 'Stunned'. When Howlies disbanded in 2011, Justin was drawn back into the acting world and jumped head-first into Atlanta's growing film industry. Justin began his film career in earnest, as a stand-in on AMC's The Walking Dead (2010). Stand-in work turned out to be a golden opportunity for Justin, affording him the chance to learn film production from the inside out, and to cultivate a newfound love for acting. This quickly led to to acting opportunities. The first break came when Justin was hired to stand in for Scoot McNairy on Season 1 of AMC's Halt and Catch Fire (2014). After being noticed by producers Melissa Bernstein and Jeff Freilich, Justin was given an audition, and subsequently landed the role of Dave, a slightly inept computer coder. In Season 2 of Halt and Catch Fire (HCF), Dave became a recurring character. From there, Justin landed a supporting role in the feature film The Founder (2016), opposite Michael Keaton, along with roles in The Birth of a Nation (2016) and a recurring role as Young Simon Barnes on Outcast (2016). Justin can also be seen in the CW's Black Lightning (2017), The Resident (2018) on FOX, and Dolly Parton's Heartstrings (2019) on Netflix, as well as the upcoming live action Disney film Jungle Cruise (2021).
