Kumaresan Duraisamy, better known by his stage name Nepoleon, is an Indian film actor, politician and the founder and chairman of the Jeevan Technologies and Jeevan Foundation. He was the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment in Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's Cabinet. Earlier in life, he acted in nearly 100 movies in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam language and Kannada films. Nepoleon entered the Tamil film industry in 1991 with P. Bharathiraja's rural film Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu, playing the antagonist role. Other roles followed, including in Ejamaan Seevalaperi Pandi, Devasuram, Ravanaprabhu, Vattaram, Hello brother, Pokkiri and Dasavatharam. His role as Mundakkal Shekharan in the blockbuster action film Devasuram is widely regarded as his best performance to-date. He reprised the role in the Ravanaprabhu, a sequel to Devasuram. Nepoleon won the Tamilnadu Government's Best actor Special Award for the film "ETTUPATTI RASA" in the year 1997. Though settled in Nashville USA, at the insistence of makers, he made his acting comeback with Kidaari (2016) and then went on to portray Gautham Karthik's father in Muthuramalingam (2017) replacing Karthik. Napoleon has landed a role in Hollywood: in upcoming supernatural thriller Devil's Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge, directed by Sam Logan Khaleghi. Among the forthcoming Tamil, Malayalam and Hollywood films in which he features are Seema Raja, AY-NA and Devil's Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge.

He tends to play naive opportunists and the hapless, quirky everyman who gets sucked into situations beyond his control. In 'The Black Hole', a short film that has won multiple awards internationally, his character managed to create a breach in the space-time continuum while doing some late night photocopying. During 2008, in conjunction with Channel 4, he was nominated for 4 Talent's Best Comedy Performance Award. He was experimented on during the BBC's Bafta-nominated spoof school science show, 'Look Around You' and starred in a comedy chat show series called 'The Napoleon Complex'. Born in American Samoa and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, Napoleon's parents instilled in him the Samoan culture with music and dance at a very young age. The family created their own costumes, did their own make-up, and had original dance choreography that showcased performances all over the Twin Cities. Tavale speaks Samoan fluently. He was a print and runway model for Mall of America. Tavale got involved with a local TV show, "Whatever", where he was a reporter who did movie reviews and interviewed local celebrities like up-and-coming superstar wrestler (at the time) and MN Gopher alumni, Brock Lesnar. Tavale enjoyed playing recreational sports like football and basketball. Today, he plays basketball wherever and whenever he can. Acting took place at Cretin-Derham Hall High School where he got involved in musical theatre productions and one-act plays. Tavale won a Talent Scholarship to Whittier College where he earned a BA in Theatre. After his BA, Tavale's professors encouraged him to audition for Graduate programs through URTA. He auditioned for over 30 schools nationwide, had some great offers, and gladly ended up accepting a full ride scholarship to University of Virginia, where he proudly holds an MFA in Acting.
