Nadeem Phillip Umar Khitab was born in Toronto Women's College Hospital, to Tahir and Rena Umar Khitab. He was raised in the Kensington Market, Peshawar, Pakistan and Mississauga, Ontario. He began studying acting at Cawthra Park School for The Arts, where he performed his first play, A Midsummer Night's Dream. In his time at Cawthra, he featured in over 10 plays, one of which (Curtain Call) competed in the Sears Ontario Drama festival, winning him regional and provincial awards for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as a 75 year old Pakistani man. Nadeem's charismatic and friendly nature garnered the support of his peers who nominated and voted him the Graduating Class of 2007 Valedictorian. He went on to pursue his passion for acting at Ryerson Theatre School, where after his first semester the faculty recommended that he leave, due to a perceived lack of effort. He discontinued his routine partying, and self-directed a regimen that looked like waking up, making the 90 minute commute to school, doing his work, and going home. After the second semester, the faculty conceded that he indeed deserved to be there. In his second year, he decided to leave of his own accord. After a year of vagabonding in New York, Venice Beach, and Toronto he sought representation and began his venture in the entertainment industry. His notable work from this time was working with The Classical Theatre Project (a Shakespeare-for-teen-audiences company) for which he performed as Macbeth, Banquo, Ross, and Seyton in two productions of Macbeth, Horatio in Hamlet, and Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet. He is now based in Vancouver, where he lives with his fiancée, playwright Sasha Singer-Wilson.
