Violet Rea was born in New York City. She appeared in her first short film at the age of eight and has been acting ever since. She studied at HB Studios, among others, and has also trained vocally. She is most known for her work in South Mountain (2019), which premiered at the South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, TX.

Violet Smith is an American actor and writer. She was born in the small town of Cave Junction, Oregon where she lived until moving to Montana for a short time and eventually relocating to Los Angeles by the age of 13. She grew up on the stage acting and dancing from the young age of 4 years old. She continued to pursue her passion for the arts in high school as a member of Viewpoint School's Conservatories of Theater and Dance where she performed in countless stage plays and dance concerts. Violet went on to attend college at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she studied Communications with an emphasis in Marketing. After spending three years in the Marketing department of a High Tech company, Violet realized that while Marketing was fulfilling, her heart belonged in the arts. She hasn't looked back since, although she still maintains a few clients as an Independent Marketing Consultant. Violet is currently working on the feature film When The Fever Breaks, to be released in 2015, and is thrilled to be a part of the production.

She worked on Spanish productions with great masters as Carlos Saura, José Luis García Sanchez and Andrés Vicente Gómez. In 2003 she produced a very successful feature film La Fiesta distributed by Walt Disney Company (Spain). Since 2016, she has been the feature film selector of the Madrid Film Festival and in 2018 she directed the closing ceremony of the same film festival. Since then she has directed documentaries and several short films that have been selected in several film festivals including: Color Thief (Best short film at Festival cine Madrid) and Quixote in a Fragmented World (Finalist at Goya awards 2016). As a screenwriter, four features: Atrévete, Entre Raíles, Myths and La Flor de Ulises. And in October 2018 she opened the Madrid Film Festival in his inaugural session with her feature film Pieces of New York. 2019 finished her last short film, Fronteras.
