After making the important decision to move to New York City to pursue a career in acting and dance, Valerie began training for success. Valerie has been studying the art of dance in hip hop, contemporary and jazz at Broadway Dance Center. In addition to this, Valerie began strengthening her acting chops under the direction of celebrity acting coach, Melvin Williams. Melvin Williams has coached the likes of Queen Latifah, Common, Michael K. Williams, etc. Mel Williams is the Artistic Director for the theater company, Theater for a New Generation. In May 2013, Mel William inducted Valerie into the company, Theater for a New Generation! With Theater for a New Generation, Valerie has starred in the Off Broadway play, "Trifles" which was directed by Mel Williams. In April 2014, Valerie starred in the Off Broadway play, "The Pledge" which was directed by Mel Williams. Valerie's training and Blessings have allowed her the opportunities to work on a host of off Broadway plays, films, television shows and national commercials.
