J.R. Brown
J.R. Brown
An actor's actor. A versatile, intrepid, consistent professional. A character who knows characters. The one and only J.R. Brown has made a name for himself in projects that range from quirky indie films to major television dramas.
Born John Raleigh Brown in El Dorado, Arkansas, J.R. is an American film and television actor known best for his role as Peter Haley in the 2020 motion picture, The Adventures of A.R.I.: My Robot Friend. J.R.'s work is wide-ranging, like his abilities, and includes everything from the hit T.V. series Scandal Made Me Famous, a series of unforgettable true stories about everyday people who shockingly became household names, to the self-produced short film Lady of the House, a simmering gripper about a young couple that inherits a home in a small town, only to have the sins of its past come back to haunt them.
Behind the scenes, J.R. brings his A-game and his trademark sense of humor to every production. Based in Dallas, he is an active member of the Texas Motion Picture Alliance (TXMPA) and is represented by Linda McAlister of Linda McAlister Talent in Dallas and Jana VanDyke of the Jana Vandyke Agency in Atlanta. Among J.R.'s many creative pursuits, he is the founder of JRBakes, where he handcrafts modern versions of his grandmother's decadent Southern desserts for both private and restaurant clients - with the same care and flair that he brings to every role.
