Roy Vongtama
Born in Buffalo, New York, and of Thai heritage, Roy began acting at Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia, PA while training to be a physician. He completed his medical training at UCLA in Radiation Oncology, a cancer sub-specialty, while at the same time training extensively with established Hollywood coaches Kate McGregor-Stewart (Marisa Tomei), Joe Palese and Amy Lyndon.
He has worked extensively in film and TV, notably in the Warner Bros. feature film "The Bucket List" with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, as well as recurring roles on "The Shield," "Scandal." He has acted in several award-worthy projects, including a lead role in the Emmy-Nominated New Media production "Stranger Adventures" as well as nominated for Best Actor at the American International Film Festival for his work in the film "Juche Rules." Roy is very active in theater, originating roles in the Ovation Award-winning "Watching OJ" from Ensemble Studio Theater/LA, the Ovation recommended "Man of God" at East West Players, as well as the lead character Yesu in the original musical, "Son of Man," from Ezekiel Theater Company.
His production company, Resonant Entertainment LLC, has produced award-winning films with over 35 film festival acceptances and multiple wins. Resonant's first feature film, After the Rain, has been picked up by Amazon Prime for domestic and international release.
